Well, last week was a bit of a chaotic mess, we tested for DIBELS on Wednesday and for Kinder, that pretty much means you have kids in and out all day. Plus we lad an early release on Thursday, with a late start on Friday because of snow (see below)
But I promise, we did do some educational things last week...seriously, I promise!
Here are some pictures:
In our prep for DIBELS, I used
Kinderglynn's HUGE Winter Success Kit in whole group, small group and with my RTI groups... it was awesome and my kids loved doing it as a class. Check it out here!
We also started using the Scrabble Alphabet Soup Game I found on clearance at Walmart. My kids were so excited to "scoop" letters, make words, say sounds...I have added it to my Letters and Sounds Station.
I looked it up, and it is about $19 at Walmart and Target online...not too bad =)
All the work paid off, my kids did GREAT on the test!
I was SUPER excited to see all the progress we/they made!
Here is my house with all the snow that kept us home!
Oh, and here are a couple more pics with my very old digital canon rebel, as I am trying to figure out if I want to upgrade to a Canon t2i or a Nikon D7000.
My new tote:
My Suburban's tire, still stuck in our yard thanks to my hubby.
My new jars from Target...love!
Is that a Jo's Tote? I want one so bad.
ReplyDeleteYep =) I really like it!
DeleteLove that tote!! And definitely jealous of the snow!!!

ReplyDeleteTotally unrelated to this post, but I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed using your "Let's Make a Snowman" packet. They turned out really cute! It was a great way to wrap up our learning. I liked it so much that I gave you a little shout out on my latest post!! Thanks and keep up the great work.

I have that same tote in gray, love it. I use to have a Canon Rebel, but I keep upgrading every two years because I take 30,000 plus pictures a year. The Rebel is a great camera, you might want to start upgrading your lenses (that makes a great difference too). Guess, I need to make a trip to Target - those are too cute.

We always DIBEL before Christmas and I always progress monitor them when we return because so much sinks in over break. I always wondere too because if its done in thirds Christmas is the halfway mark! They really do come back from break smarter!
ReplyDeleteJennifer from Simply Kinder.
LOVE THIS POST! And I love those jars! Have a good one, sweet girl!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the progress your kiddos made! My school will be DIBELing (I'm not sure if that is an actual verb but we always seem to make it one. =)) in a couple of weeks. I'm a little nervous. We use the "Walk to Read" system and I have the kids in the middle. I hope all we are doing is working.
