I tried really hard to get back into the swing of things today using my Blend Friends Pack to work on initial blends. My firsties are making some great connections about how some letters come together to make one sound…and my pack has been perfect for small group, intervention, and stations! It just depends on where that child is, they may see it as a review in small group or intervention... or as an independent activity for my higher kids in a literacy station.
These are pictures I snapped today of the flipbooks (below) we made and the mats (above) that I used at the table and in stations. The kids put their finger on the (center) blend and then touch an outside piece-of-a-word, putting together the whole word…then repeating with each new word made. I hope that makes sense!!
These are all the books included in the pack! For every book, there is a blend mat that matches it!
